Leonie Blackwell (nee Murray) designs all her courses incorporating her academic background with practical experience and knowledge. She began as a secondary school teacher in a socially disadvantaged technical school in North Eastern Victoria. She completed a Graduate Diploma in Student Welfare and became the Student Counsellor at the school. Through this she became involved in a local homeless youth agency, taking on roles with the management committee and as a volunteer support person with service users. 

Her own health crisis bought her into contact with Naturopathy. She completed a Certificate in Flower Essence Therapy in 1991 and a Certificate in Massage the same year. During this time she worked in a youth refuge and a family group home for adolescents. She set up her own business in Drouin Victoria, The Essence of Healing, in 1994 and begun teaching the flower essence course in 1995. She completed Reiki I and II in 1995 and her Diploma in Natural Therapies in 1996. In 2001 she completed a Certificate in Emotional Freedom Technique. To keep up to date and advance her skills she completed a Diploma of Freelance Health & Fitness Writing in 2002 and a Certificate in Loss, Grief & Bereavement in 2003. In 2006 she completed a Certificate in VioceBio Sound Therapy.

 Leonie brings together human reality with life long learning and healing. A believer in personal truth and facing reality instead of sanitising life, her courses combine humanistic psychology with the concepts of esoteric healing in a framework of Emotional Intelligence. They are designed to challenge participants to explore themselves and take responsibility for their life direction and future happiness.
