Tap Bullies Away is an iPhone App that aims to help those who are feeling bullied or have been bullied in their life. Bullying in our school yards, workplaces and homes has become
a major issue everywhere. Most of the focus is on preventing bullying but there’s not much around to help with the after affects of being bullied. This App is just for that, whether you have been bullied at school, in the workplace or at home Tap Bullies Away has two EFT protocols – one to help you cope with the bullying that has occurred and the other is to help you release the distress you feel about being bullied. Both should be used to clear the experiences you have had. EFT is a simple, easy and highly effective technique you can use
every day or just when you feel the need to build your resilience and emotional muscle. Don’t let bullying destroy your life or the life of someone you know. This App can make a difference to how you feel.
About Bullying
If bullying is happening to you or someone you know and you don’t know how to handle
it the solution lays at your fingertips. First let’s start by changing the concept you might have about being bullied. Think of bullying as someone trying to take your power away or pinch your energy so that they feel more powerful than you. You can use the EFT technique to help you keep your energy or your power. Instead of feeling powerless and a victim to the abuse or injustice you have experienced you can stay powerful and become more resilient in your life.
Bullies are addicted to cruelty; they need to make people feel less than them so they feel okay. In reality most bullies are sad, lonely and insecure but try and make you feel like that so they don’t have to. EFT is a tapping technique that will help you build your emotional muscle to become emotionally resilient, strong and secure without needing to become a bully yourself. As you feel strong and powerful by keeping your energy the bully will
usually lose interest in you because they don’t get to feel okay anymore.
Energy Psychology & Emotional Freedom Technique
A new field of psychology has developed in the last decade called Energy Psychology and
Emotional Freedom Technique is one of a number of techniques that come under this heading. In EFT we talk about how our emotions, thoughts and belief’s create a charge and it is this charge that creates our unhappiness, stress, tension and illnesses. It’s the resistance to what IS that creates the charge. It’s the non-acceptance of our own and others choices, actions and consequences that creates the charge . Using EFT to release the charge, the resistance, the non-acceptance of an issue is the key to EFT’s success. Even if someone does something to us that we don’t like we have the choice in how we respond to it. When someone bullies us they are acting in a way that is unfair and unjust. If we take that on and think it means we are bad, worthless or deserved what they did because we are different then we have become the victim to that injustice. We can use EFT to release the “charge” and leave the injustice with them. If our energy remains unchanged then they have no power over us.
What were the beginnings of EFT?
Dr. Roger Callahan is a clinical research psychologist from the United States. He had been studying the body’s energy system as part of his work in psychotherapy in 1980, when he
decided to tap a meridian point for the stomach on one of his patients who had a water phobia and was complaining of stomach aches. She announced immediately that her phobia had gone and raced to the nearest source of water, splashing it in her face. This surprised Dr. Callahan but he begun to increase his work with the meridians and in 1990 wrote a book titled “The Rapid Treatment of Panic, Agoraphobia and Anxiety” in which he described his Thought Field Therapy. He is believed to be the first person to specifically develop a technique to clear emotional disturbances from the body using the meridian’s
energy system.
Gary Craig, along with others, studied with Dr. Callahan and each has made some adjustments to the original method. Gary Craig has called his adaptation Emotional Freedom Technique. Basically it is believed that all negative emotions are caused by a
disruption in the body’s energy system.
Does EFT really work?
What evidence is there that EFT really makes a difference?
EFT has been compared and tested against other energy psychology methods and been found to be highly effective. While it is not 100% guaranteed to work for everyone, it
is one of the most simplest and effective methods available in the world at the moment. For example:
Steve Wells from Western Australia in 2000 conducted a study that compared the results of EFT to Diaphragmatic Breathing in relation to phobias to small animals. Both treatments produced significant improvements in phobic reactions with EFT showing significantly greater improvement.
Joaquin Andrade MD from South America in 2001 using a meridian tapping
technique on a range of anxiety, addictive and related DSM IV disorders the
results of 5 years were:
- 93% positive clinical responses using tapping alone
- 63% positive clinical responses combining drug and cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT). Mean number of sessions in tapping group was 5 and in
cognitive-behaviour therapy were 14.

What evidence is there that meridians and chi exist?
Within the philosophy of Emotional Freedom Technique it is believed that all negative emotions are caused by a disruption in the body’s energy system. By tapping any meridian in effect you stimulate the energy to flow assisting the removal of the emotional/energy blockage.
In 1992 a study of over 300 people was conducted in France to prove that meridians
exist. A radioactive tracer was injected at acupuncture points and a special camera was able to make an image of the path it followed. A similar tracer was injected at a control point that was not an acupuncture point. The tracer injected in the acupuncture points followed the same pathways described as meridians in traditional Chinese medicine. However the tracer injected in the random points diffused. Each experiment was repeated several times.
